TWELVE coaches from sports clubs across the Vale have attended an 'Analysing Your Coaching' course.

Part of the council's 'Creating Confident Coaches' programme, the course was run by the sports and play development team, which is seeking to improve the level of coaching across the area. Other courses include 'First Aid' and 'Coaching the Whole Child.'

The development of coaches and club officials has long been a priority for the local Community Chest Panel and, between April, 2013, and March this year, there were more than 870 different courses. In addition, as part of the team's 'Active Young People' programme, a 'Young Leaders Pathway' aims to identify and develop future coaches and sports volunteers and last year more than 104 young people attended a range of courses. The programme is continuing.
