With the first teams game cancelled due to Pencoed not being able to raise a team, the spotlight was on Sully Cricket Club's second team and their push for promotion playing away to second place Cefn Forest.
Winning the toss skipper Nigel Crick took the bold decision to field first and this gamble would prove to be correct.
Matt Bullock (3 for 39) was the pick of the bowlers with Mark Loran, Andrew Davies and Inan Khan all taking 2 wickets .
Special mention to the skipper for an excellent catch to get rid of Cen Forest dangerous middle order batsmen and in the 45th over the home team were all out for 180.
In reply after the loss of an early wicket Vijay (28) and Mike Howe pushed the score along until Vijay was the next batsmen to go. Tibin came and went after a few excellent shots and it was left to Khan (51) and Howe (66) to push the Spartans to victory and an excellent 6 wicket win.
Cefn Forest 180 all out
M.Bullock 3 for 29
Sully CC 181 for 4
M.Howe 66
I.Khan 51
