PENARTH Town AFC U8s recently played in the 30th Welsh Super Cup Football Tournament in Cardiff and played against a very gifted and talented academy team who had not lost a game from Bogota Colombia.
Penarth were congratulated by the Colombian coaches, officials and the referee after the game heaping praise on the Penarth Town set up of local boys and their style of football vs. the best of Bogota Columbia. The game ended in a 1-1 draw.
"The attitude, enthusiasm and confidence the U8s played with in the tournament was fantastic. I am very proud of what these local boys achieved over two tough days of football against teams who were made up of specially selected players for this prestigious tournament," said Penarth Town coach Shaun Watkins.
Penarth Town were sporting a new style football kit specially designed for the tournament. This was supplied by their sponsor Floor Furnishings Ltd, a professional local flooring company.
