ON Saturday, September 13 the Club were invited to play Bridge at the “Pen and Paper” in the Royal Arcade in Cardiff. The Penarth players enjoyed their game, and were joined by many passersby who showed an interest in the game

The Penarth Bridge Club congratulate Wales who won the Gold Medal at the Commonwealth Nations Bridge Championships in Glasgow last weekend (Sept 13) - Three of the team members were from Penarth BC (Patrick Jourdain, Tony Ratcliff and John Salisbury).

In the Welsh Bridge Union Sims held on the September 5, the results at present show that Club took first (Eric Favager and Mike Downey) and second place (Tony Ratcliff and Patrick Jourdain).

Friday, September 12

1: J. Jenkins and M. Best: 62 per cent

2: A. Hall and B. Wiseman: 60 per cent

3: E. Favager and M. Downey: 59 per cent
