DINAS Powys faced IMFC Yellows with the Wolves winning with 11 goals to two.

This was an eagerly awaited fixture as players from both teams know each other so well.

The game started very nervously for the home side as a few chances went missing; Tom Insole was very fast off his line to deny C Hewitson, Saunders and Harewood for the visitors.

As the villagers settled down they began to pass the ball around and the movement from the front two was great to watch. Callum deservedly opened the scoring. IMFC responded right from the restart as they drew level straight from kick off, confusion in the defence allowed the visiting winger time and space to slot home.

This only seemed to fire Dinas on, the back three of Frost, Lewis and Moss gave the midfield quality ball time and time again. K Booker again put in a performance beyond his young age with a display of wing play rarely seen at this level. Further goals from Harewood, Hewitson, Saunders and Booker allowed the home side to be more expansive in their play. Joe doughty and Zac Fifield wasted very little ball switching play from back to front and side to side. Harewood, Pereira and Booker showed great running off the ball to stretch the game.

Rolling subs is a blessing at this age and O'Brien, Stowell, Mallum and Williams showed the strength in depth as all four put in very strong performances. Being able to rota players is so important as playing on such large pitches is very draining for these young lads.

The second half saw Dinas put in a display that really highlights the hard work they have put in over the summer. Moss, Williams and Frost again were able to give the platform with D Morris and I Stowell recycling the ball the very fast.

As the game wore on J Doughty seemed to grow stronger and stronger. Lewis, O'Brien and Fifield looked to keep the ball ticking over and Harewood managed to ghost in to the box time and time again.

Dinas Powys FC is a community club and the support the Wolves get from parents on a Saturday and at match days is brilliant. The mums want to say a big thank you to confused.com for sponsoring Dinas Powys Wolves this year, so have decided to upload their photos ready for a team calendar coming out just before Christmas.
