SULLY visited Bridgend on Saturday to play Ogwr in the Clubs Championship, their second game of the new indoor season hoping to continue their winning ways having beaten Newport in their first game.

Sully made changes to their team to allow players who missed the first game an opportunity to show their form in readiness for selection for forthcoming games beginning Saturday next against championship favourites Blaenau Gwent.

The game got off to a flying start for Sully who raced to a 28 shot lead by the fifth end and this increased to 42 by end 10 and ironically the only Sully rink struggling was that of Martin Clarke who after being top rink in the first game was being held at 10 - 10.

As the game progressed Sully were proving too strong for their opponents and at end 15 were now 58 shots ahead and at this stage the win was more or less guaranteed and the focus was now on ensuring maximum points.

With the rinks of Brian Griffiths, Mel Newman, Matthew Woodcock and Ken McLeod well ahead it was the remaining rinks of Brian Foscolo and Clarke who at this stage were just six and three shots ahead respectively and fighting to maintain their slender leads.

On the 16th and 17th ends Foscolo and Clarke dropped a further four shots, also McLeod’s rink suffered a reverse of seven shots narrowing their lead to just three but these reverses obviously hit home and the three rinks lifted their games picking up 22 shots over the last four ends ensuring a maximum 22 points winning 165 – 90.
