PENARTH Gymnastics Club has done it again. Gymnasts from Penarth and Barry who attend the club proved to be the best in Wales at the annual Welsh Disability Championships, recently held in Swansea Gymnastics Centre. They vied with both Welsh gymnasts and in the open section, with the best of Great Britain.

At his first ever national event, Ashley Ward achieved silver medals on all three of his four apparatus, and was awarded the gold medal overall and the national title. In the same category, team mate Charlotte Hitt won two gold medals and was runner-up overall.

David Melly competed in the junior men’s category where he won four gold medals and two silver, these results securing him the national title.

Gareth Lloyd and Kiaran Parsons represented the club in the senior men’s category, with Gareth placing first and Kiaran second on all six apparatus. Gareth came away as National Champion in this category.

Penarth Gymnastics Club is extremely proud of all these gymnasts as they continue to go from strength to strength.
