PENARTH Darts League resumed this week following the Christmas break and mentioned last week there was a renewed enthusiasm culminating in many high scoring games and several maximum 180’s.

The Golden Lion A side played home to the Ex’s B and were in a dominant position at 8-1 ahead with only the last singles and the team game to play. But somehow the Ex’s B turned things around to take the remaining five points to end the match at 8-6 to the Golden Lion A.

Lion A took both pairs with Steve 100 and Nathan 100 x20, followed by Rob and Paul 100 x8.

Lion A went on to dominate the first three singles taking all but one point through Mike 100, 100 135 x10, Nathan 100 x8 and 100 x12, Steve 100 x6 and 100 100 100 x2.

The Ex’s were able to stop the rot at that point with Davie taking the last singles with 121 x10 and a maximum 180 x8, Ian also took a leg for the Ex’s with 100 100 125 x4.

In the team leg Steve put in a sterling effort for the home side hitting 100 100 but it was to be the Ex’s B’s game with Ian scoring 140 140 leaving Davie x20 to take the three points.

At the Rafa Club the home side were fired up and bashed in loads of high scores only to find the Lion B were up for it also bashing in some scores of their own and taking the match 9-6.

Lion B took the first pairs with S 100 x10. Rafa hit back through Lee 100 and Nathan with an 80 out shot on x10, Mitch Hit 101, new signing Gary Hobbs hit 140 125 x1, 100 140, 100 for the Rafa but was still out played by the Lion B’s S Keepin 100 x10 and a maximum 180 x10.

Anthony took the next for the Rafa 100 x10, 125 and a maximum 180 x8, Lee also took points for the Rafa with 100 100 140 x4 and 120 x1. Mitch took a point for the Lion B hitting two x double 8’s.

Russ took the last singles for the Lion B scoring 100 x16 and x20, the Rafa seemed to run out of ton’s in the team game to which the Lion B took full advantage with S Keepin scoring 100 110 and Paul taking the three points with x19.

At the Coronation Club the home side took on the Cross Keys in a game which switched back and for but finally resulted in an 8-6 win for the Keys. Kevin took the first point for the keys with x8, Dai took one back for the Coro with x4, at that point the game swung back to the Keys taking seven singles points through Kevin 140 x20, 100 125 x20, Owain hit 100 100 in reply for the Coro. Tony took the next with 100 x1 and 100 100 x4, followed by Marc with 100 x4 and x8, Pete also took points for the Keys with x1.

Dai was the only winner for the Coro playing well with scores of 105, 140 123 x16 and 100 100 x10, the Coro continued Dai’s momentum in the team game with Owain hitting 100 and Dai 121 and Derek wrapping things up on x20 to take the three points and limit the earlier damage made by the Keys.
