DOW Corning Sea Angling Club with support from the Sea View Lads held a charity match from Cold Knap beach to Porthkerry to help raise funds for children who attend Ysgol Y Deri (whom formerly went to Ashgrove/Ty Dyfan schools) and have learning and physical difficulties.

Through the money raised, £2,350 went to Ysgol Y Deri, Penarth and £1,000 went to Ty Robyn Goch in Barry.

On the day 105 anglers turned out, the weather was good and a few fish came to the scales. The winner was Chris Equal of Cardiff, who gave his £50 pool money back, with 3kgs of Whiting and Dogfish.

Second was Gerald John of Dow Corning with a couple of codling for 2.2kgs and third was last year’s winner Andrew Hutchins of Cardiff with 1.75kgs.
