THERE were only two matches played again this week in the Penarth Darts League, both resulting in big wins for the two home teams.

Firstly the Ex’s A side playing home to the Ex’s B side in a high scoring closely fought derby match containing many high scores including 171, a maximum 180 and the highest possible checkout 170, two treble 20s and a bullseye to finish.

The first pairs went to the B team when Dave scored 100 and Kevin 100 x2, Mark W hit 117 for the Ex’s A. Jack 136 and Paul x16 hit back to level the score at 1-1, Paul hit 100 for the B side.

The Ex’s A took the first singles match with Mark S setting the standard for the evening with scores of 100 x17, 100, and a maximum 180 x8. Paul Wingren followed on with a 170 check out finishing on the bull achieving a second such finish within his time playing in the Penarth Darts League.

Paul continued to score well in the next leg hitting 131 140 100 x8, John followed that scoring 135 100 x2 and 100 x8, last up jack hit 121 x18 and x8.

For the Ex’s B side, singles wins came from Kevin 120 140, 100 x10, 100, Paul 156 140 100 x8, 140, Ian 171 140 x2, Dave hit 121.

Ex’s A went on to win the team leg with Mark S 100, Paul 100 and Mark W double eight double eight.

At the Golden Lion the home side took on the Cross Keys and came away with the Lion’s share of the points, winning 10-4.

Lion took both pairs wins through Shaun 100 x10 and Russ x20, singles were shared. Lion’s wins came from Shaun 121 x1 and 100 104 x5, Mitch x5, Morris 108 out finishing on x18 and x20. Keys winners were R Winwood 135 125 x7 and x20, Jeff 100 132 x19 and 100 x16.

In the team leg Jeff hit 123 for the Keys but it was the Lion B that took the three points with Shaun 100, Paul 100 and Russ with x16.
