CHILDREN and young people from across the Vale of Glamorgan recently attended an inspirational development day to Manchester United FC and at Everton FC with PG10 Coaching.

Hundreds of children and young people aged between six and 14 years old took part in a development trip to Manchester United FC going behind the scenes at Old Trafford where they visited the dressing rooms, experienced the fantastic 76,000 capacity stadium and viewed the trophies the club have won and other historic items of significance to the club.

They got the chance to stroll into the dressing room like a superstar. Walk the footsteps of United legends and heroes such as Beckham, Charlton, Best, Ronaldo, Rooney and Cantona and many more.

The children also viewed the unique stadium from the dugouts and technical area pitch side. In addition the children saw the press room director’s box and much more.

All the children also took part in educational workshops run by the Premier League giants and picked up information on nutrition and the importance of living a healthy lifestyle.

The children also attended a football development day with partner club Everton FC at the club's official first team training ground at Finch Farm in Liverpool.

The children were taught skills and techniques by the football clubs academy staff to aid player development.

Everton legend Neville Southall and Everton assistant manager Duncan Ferguson were on hand to inspire the children and give them top tips.

Head coach Peter Griffiths said “The development days were a fantastic experience for the children to visit Manchester United FC stadium and Everton FC training ground.

“The children got to learn top football skills and techniques and learn about some of the greats that have played for the clubs as well as learn about the club’s proud history visiting the museum. It was brilliant seeing the children sit in managers Louis Van Gall dugout and imagine what it would be like to play for the club like star players Rooney, Van Persie and Falaco"
