PENARTH Bridge Club participated in a worldwide simultaneous pairs event to raise funds for the Nepal Disaster Fund, with members donating £120 for this very worthwhile cause.

A total of 4,301 pairs worldwide played in the event, and two of Penarth's pairs had excellent results. Joan Jenkins and Tim Barsby were 14th worldwide with 70.2 per cent, while Tony Ratcliffe and Trish Tracey were 53rd with 66.8 per cent.

Every month Penarth runs a "Bring a Friend" event where they play informal duplicate bridge as well as normal club bridge. They invite people who have sufficient experience to give club bridge a try and to become members if they enjoy the experience.

Partners are supplied if required. Contact Hazel or Peter on 029 2051 4719 if you are interested, or visit bridgewebs.com/penarth.
