PENARTH Windsor Lawn Tennis Club’s junior section packed out the courts for week one of the summer holidays, taking part in the club's annual tournament.

A packed entry for singles and doubles events ranging from eight to 18 and under meant that by day four (Thursday) of the five-day event, more than 240 matches had already been completed in glorious sunshine, but with a wash-out forecasted for Friday finals day, eight and under and nine and under events were completed ahead of schedule.

The remaining 20 matches have been rolled over to be held alongside the club's prestigious senior open finals weekend of September 25-26, with a capacity crowd predicted.

The club committee wishes to congratulate all its junior members on their performances throughout the week, and thank the many parents and older juniors who helped to umpire matches and run the Deuce Café Bar.
