MURCH Bowling Club hosted an invitation game as one of their events to mark their 25th anniversary, on Friday, July 17.

Those invited were the Rhoose and Millwood Clubs who were also founded in 1990 and are celebrating their 25th anniversary.

The afternoon was ideal for bowling and the event brought excitement and anticipation of a special occasion which was well fulfilled.

President Judy Fudge warmly welcomed the visitors and thanked them for sharing in their anniversary proceedings.

The pre-match ‘spider’ was won by Anne Davies of Millwood. Play then commenced with a very friendly atmosphere on all rinks.

The winning rink for the visitors was a Millwood team, skipped by Anne Davies, and the winning rink for Murch was skipped by Cynthia Tranter. It was certainly Anne’s day as she then went on to win the star prize in the Captain's Charity raffle.

The players adjourned to the club house for a meal and continued conviviality.

Following the meal, captain Mark Hughes reiterated the president’s welcome and presented Millwood winning rink players with a slate coaster.

Both guest captains, Jo Hopkins of Rhoose and June Davis of Millwood responded and agreed that everyone had thoroughly enjoyed themselves and thanked the Murch members for their hospitality and said that the afternoon had been a great success.
