SULLY Bowling Club suffered two defeats during their latest week of matches after enjoying two good wins previously.
On Wednesday a scratch side ended up playing a very strong Windsor team. The highlight of the night was the fact that the rain stopped at 6pm just as they went out to start the match and it was downhill from there, with all rinks losing and stimulating great debate in the bar on the merits of the selectors.
S Norris, G Neadley, T Murphy, D Curtis 12-27
D Curtin, C Michael, D Hotchkis, C Best 6-23
E Prior, D Davies, M Hardy, B Grifiths 16-18
B Curtis, H Thomas, H Jones, D Edwards 14-17
Final score 48-85
On Saturday they travelled away to Gilfach Goch on what turned out to be a lovely day. Getting off to a bad start, when at the last minute, one of the team could not be released from work, so they travelled one short.
Things went downhill from then on and again all rinks down.
D Curtin, D Hotchkis, C Best 11-27
S Norris, G Neadley, T Murphy, D Curtis 15-23
E Prior, H Jones, M Hardy, B Griffiths 14-33.
B Curtis, C Michael, A Rees, D Edwards 10-24
Final score 50-107
That completes their WBA Competition for this year. This week they have a Wednesday game away at the Murch and the following Wednesday at home to Sully Sports with a club competition in between on the Saturday at 1pm.
