ON SUNDAY, July 3, the Windsor Bowls Club held their yearly Fun Day, with 59 bowlers enjoying the day including a fun game of mixed spoons.

The winners were Matthew Woodcock, Reg Dyer and Kay Dyer. Runners-up were Colin Johns, Simon Latham and Steve Ellard.

The event was finished off by a French themed buffet enjoyed by 80 people, most of whom dressed up "a la Francais".

Monday, July 4, saw the Windsor ladies away to the Murch in the Evening League. The game was played in good spirits, but unfortunately ended with a defeat on both rinks for Windsor.

On Tuesday, July 5, the team were away to Dinas Powys in the Double Rinks. It was a very close game on both rinks, with a win by two shots on one and a loss by two shots on the other, ending in an honourable draw with both teams taking five points.

On Thursday, July 7, they were away to Llantwit Major in the Afternoon League. An enjoyable game on a wet dismal day. Victory was achieved on the two rinks of Moyra Owen and Diane Thomas giving Windsor eight points to Llantwit two points.

The Windsor gentlemen played Whitchurch at home in the Alliance on Tuesday, July 5. It was a good afternoon of bowling but they lost on all four rinks to a very strong team.

On the same day, Windsor players also competed in the South Vale District Finals. Matthew Woodcock competed in the singles and Ken McLeod, Mal Hope, Richard Flitney and Rod Hudson in the senior fours.

Matthew played well but lost by one shot (21 - 20) to M Clarke of Barry Athletics. The senior fours beat Millwood 18 - 14.

On Wednesday, July 6, at home to the Murch in the Munro Cup, resulted in Windsor winning and taking 14 points.
