SULLY Centurions Cricket Club played host to touring side Parkend on Saturday, September 10, and lost a close match in the last over.

Batting first, Centurions were indebted to Awais Chaudray who hit a powerful 75 and to Amais, who got 40 in a total of 233 for 4 after the allotted 40 overs.

After tea, the visitors were soon in trouble, with Rahman (3-15, including four maidens, in eight overs) and Aron Arthur (3-54) bagging most of the wickets – and at the half-way stage things seemed hopeless for the team from the Forest of Dean.

However, a couple of decent partnerships, including a ninth wicket stand of 70 between Parsons (63) and Merton (43) saw Parkend home with just three balls to spare.

Cavaliers were always second best in the run chase and eventually finished on just 111 - 6. Top scorers were Thomas, who hit 34 and Parkhurst (30).

For Sully, the main wicket takers were Satish with 2-19 and Russell Thomas (2-6).
