Willows Ladies FC 0 - Dinas Powys Ladies FC 3

DINAS Powys Ladies FC started the game the faster but a lack of composure stopped them romping into a four goal lead within the opening 10 minutes.

Willows Ladies then changed their shape and went very attack minded to keep the pressure on. For long periods Dinas had the home side pinned in but failure to hit the target kept the scoreline at 0-0 for the first 45 minutes.

The first half was a very positive display from the Dinas 'Villagers' as they kept trying to force the game but were denied by some very good defending, poor finishing and a 'keeper who worked overtime.

Following a few stern words and a gentle reminder of what they had worked on at training the Dinas Ladies took only 10 minutes to take a two goal lead as Molly Chapman and Taylor Page both turned provider for Laura Murray and Naomi Wilson.

Willows never gave in and with a limited squad always looked to play and counter, but Leanne Pattermore marshalled her defence and Alex Allen, Catrin O'Connell, Vicki Elison, Kelly Tuck and Steaphanie Garner-Joel all worked tirelessly to give Lea Phillips her first clean sheet of the season.

Molly Chapman added the third as her pace got her goal side to strike from 20 yards. Gemma Crowley, Jodi Bowles and Holly Rye showed their worth as all three proved valuable replacements and ran themselves into the ground.

Player of the match though was Joanne Blackman-Jones who pressed, tackled, and played some top draw football throughout showing age is no barrier.

This was a very solid all round performance from a team that has a great spirit and attitude to match any.
