Dinas Ladies FC 4 - Aberdare Ladies FC 1

DINAS Ladies FC went into this match with three big players away so the strength in depth of the squad was tested to the full.

Making a return to Bryn y Don - after their home pitch of Jenner park was booked - the girls went right on the attack.

Within 15 minutes it was 2 - 0 to the home side as Laura Murray made no mistake. Her second was a curling finish from just inside the box.

Dinas player Nao was a thorn in the Aberdare team's side throughout the opening 30 minutes as she linked everything up.

Rachel Beare and Kelly Tuck both came very close with headers from corners as the set pieces were beginning to tell.

Taylor Page was seeing plenty of the ball and her quality of delivery freed Murray countless times.

Pacey wide player Demi Bounds, a recent signing, has carried on her a goal a game and lashed a shot home to give the Dinas 'Villagers' a comfortable 3 - 0 lead at the break.

Losing skipper Leanne Pattermore just before the break with a pulled hamstring saw the team reshuffle but again the defence looked water tight as Page slotted into left back and Elison moving to centre back.

Saunders and Jones were first to a lot of second balls starting the Dinas attacks and Murray was unlucky not to increase the lead as she broke free from her marker.

Gemma Crowley showed why she is a good asset to the team playing wide and setting up chances then dropping into full back to see the game out.

Dinas have worked on their set piece play and eventually, after so many near chances and goal line clearances, it came off as Rachel Beare powered in with an unstoppable header from a Crowley cross.

Dinas made their changes bringing on Hayley Imperato, Louise Bickel, Emma Cordy and Lea Phillips. This was a solid team display that puts the 'Villagers' six points clear at the top.

Player-of-the-match was deservedly shared between Vicki Elison and Taylor Page.
