BILLY United captain Ceri Morris lead his team from the front in this much anticipated top-of-the-table clash in the Vale of Glamorgan Pool League.

The Whitchill took an early lead in the match, but they were soon pegged back by a great frame from captain Morris.

The cue ball looked as though it was on a piece of string, as Morris broke off and then faultlessly cleared up with one visit to the table, earning himself an 8-ball trophy in the process.

The whole Billy United team hardly put a foot wrong all night with Farrugia and Ross Taylor shining, but the stand-out player was Mark Ingram, who was to go on and win both his singles matches and win his doubles with Ross Jones to win this match comfortably 8 - 2.

Over at Bar Cocoa it was business as usual for Cocopops with Mile Dunn coming out as player of the match.

The Borough were playing Cocopops for the second time this season and knew they had their work cut out against a team with a lot of skill and experience.

Needless to say Borough were proven right with a 8 - 2 defeat.

At the Tadcross Hotel new captain Sean Kelly took on Finnegans.

In a very friendly, but competitive atmosphere the games were all closely competed.

Finnegans took a strong 5 - 3 lead, but the last two doubles were out very nervously, the Tadcross were able to pull it back and finish the night with a very respectable 5 - 5 draw.

A great night with respect being shown for both sides.

This Thursday, December 22, the highlight match is Billy versus Cocopops in the first round of the Nine Point Cup.

The Vale of Glamorgan Pool League are still looking for players of all capabilities to join, compete and have fun.
