CHILDREN and young people from PG10 Coaching and the Vale Sports Arena recently got in the Christmas spirit.

The children have been busy collecting boots and kits to donate to children in Sierra Leone, Gambia and toys to the Teenage Cancer Trust.

Peter Griffiths, director of PG10, said: "Christmas is a time of giving and it is important that children know how lucky they are and give to other children living in severe poverty.

"Africa is close to my heart after football coaching in Sierra Leone, it was a humbling experience so it's important that our players have done this kind gesture."

Catherine Sharp of the Vale Sports Arena said: "The children have either bought or donated their toys to children recovering in the Teenage Cancer Units and is a fantastic Christmas story. We encourage all our staff and volunteers to support communities and projects within."

The Vale Sports Arena is encouraging charities to put applications forward to be the arena official charity for 2017.

Vale Sports Arena is committed to making a difference in the local community and support charities and not for profit organisations. Events will be arranged throughout the year to help raise money for good causes and community projects.
