THE latest news from the Vale of Glamorgan Football League has seen Dinas Powys Athletic withdraw from the league and so their record has been expunged.

A sad end for a club that saw successive promotions since their inception. Dinas' departure gives the Premier Division a slightly different look as their results for or against do not count now.

Only six games were played across the three divisions this weekend with the weather postponing six other matches.

In the Premier Division, Rhoose continued their fantastic form with a tight 2 - 1 victory over Penarth Town. The result sees Rhoose draw level with Vale United at the top of the table, however, Rhoose have played five games more.

Elsewhere in the Premier, St Athan took all three points at Maslin Park with a 3 - 1 win over Island Marine, Josh Morgan (2) and Jordan Mortimore with the goals.

Tynewydd picked up a much needed win as they dispatched bottom side Masons Moving Group 5 - 1.

In Division One, league leaders Barry Athletic B edged ever closer to the league title with a 4 - 0 victory over Cadoxton Barry, Izaac Farrag (2), Dan Morgan and Mark Kingdon with the goals making it six league wins on the bounce.

With only three games remaining can Athletic B hold on to their lead to clinch the Division One title.

Cadoxton Athletic defeated Dockers 5 - 1 to leapfrog them into seventh place while the result of Sully versus SP Billy has not been submitted.

Only one game in Division Two but it was a goal fest as league leaders Cadoxton Imps beat the much improved Rhoose B 6 - 3. Imps will hope their recent blip is over as they sit four points ahead of second place with six games to go.

Next week's games of the day must be St Athan versus Penarth, Cogan versus Barry Belgrade and a big clash of third versus first, Penarth B versus Cadoxton Imps.
