ON SATURDAY at 2pm both skippers agreed the weather was the winner as the local derby between Sully seconds and Dinas Powys would have to be cancelled without a ball being bowled so it was left to the first team of Sully to take centre stage away to Panteg.

Winning the toss Sully had no choice but to bowl first on a damp but drying wicket and the decision would prove to be correct (just)

All bowlers restrained the home teams batsmen quest for quick runs, but Sudhi with three wickets and Jacob P with two wickets were the pick of the bowlers as in the 26th over Panteg were all out for 125, a small total in normal conditions but due to the weather and state of the pitch it was more like 175.

Sully lost wickets at regular periods and it was only due to the dogged defence of Saneesh (34) that Sully crept over the winning line, winning by two wickets

Panteg 125 allout.

Sudhi 3 for 20

Jacob P 2 for 24

Sully 129 for 8

Saneesh 34
