SATURDAY saw the arrival of unbeaten league leaders St Fagans to the Windsor Green. Even the absence of five regular Windsor first team players could not be an excuse for a comprehensive victory for the visitors by 91 shots to 45.

Matthews, Morrish, Gunter and Holmes took the battle to the last end before going down 18/21. The other scores were Woodcock R, Davies, Gooding and Rees 17-28. Evans, Daniel, Hope and Woodcock M. 12-24. Rogers, Latham, Burton and McLeod 14-22.

It was a happier story two days previously when the PG1 team travelled to Cardiff Athletic and won on all rinks with a resounding total score of 90-43. Flitney, Rogers, Hudson and McLeod 16-14. Evans, Palfrey, Hope and Woodcock 27-8. Ellard, Morrish, Gooding and Rees 23-11. Matthews, Burton, Gunter and Holmes 24-10. The victory ensured that Windsor still sit comfortably in the second promotion spot.

The Munroe Cup team also had a big win against Rhoose by 91 shots to 45. Skip Hudson with Hales, Latham and Flitney, sportingly gave away the last five ends to lose 16-18 but there was success for Peregrine, Cuccinello, Ellard and McLeod 15-11, Evans, Palfrey, Hope and Woodcock 32-5 and Ellis, Burton, Gunter and Holmes 28-11.

There was only one match for the ladies this week and what a match it was,

The afternoon league team, playing away at Cadoxton, swept all before them, winning on all three rinks with an overall score of 77 to 33. The scores were B. Ellis, C. Fitzgerald, B. Dunlop and K. Dyer 19-12. C. Lewis, D. Ellard, A. Rees and M. Owen 35-9. The other rink warmed up with a long climb up to the Cadoxton Green after Navigator Flitney instructed the driver to park some 200 metres downhill from their destination. Somehow S. Howells, A. Morrish, V. Flitney and D. Thomas still came away with a 23-12 victory.
