BARRY Athletic returned to the top of the Premier Division this past weekend with a 2-1 win over Island Marine, with St Athan hot on their heels after an impressive 2-0 victory over AFC Rhoose. The highly competitive and open Premier Division also saw FC Barry Belgrade secure three points, defeating Penarth Town 2-1 who were atop of the league coming into this round of fixtures.

In Division One, early leaders Sully Sports were held by Barry Saints in a 2-2 draw, second place Tynewydd were held away at Cadoxton Athletic 1-1 while SP Billy inflicted a 3-1 defeat on Cogan Coronation who are surprisingly still without a win so far this season. Cardiff Airport saw off Cwm Talwg 3-1 and Penarth Town B went down 2-1 to Cadoxton Imps to stay bottom.

In Division Two, Cadoxton Barry made it four wins out of four with a 4-2 triumph over Barry Albion. Vale Madrid are really hitting their stride as they thrashed Island Marine B 7-0 while BRT Dynamos and Glenbrook played out an incredibly high scoring game sharing 15 goals between them, Dynamos coming out on top by a crazy scoreline of 9-6. St Athan B moved off the bottom with their first point of the season as they drew with BV 1-1.

Next week sees St Athan and Island Marine respectively in SWFA Cup action. Notable games in the league see Sully take on Tynewydd and Cogan v Penarth in a derby. The two teams with a 100% record meet in division two as Llantwit Major travel to Cadoxton Barry.
