WALES held off a strong second-half fightback by Scotland to edge a thrilling Women's Six Nations clash 18-17 at Parc Eirias in Colwyn Bay.

Scotland trailed 13-0 at half-time following tries by Wales wings Jess Kavanagh-Williams and international debutant Hannah Bluck, while full-back Jodie Evans kicked a penalty.

But the visitors then hit back, led by full-back Chloe Rollie, who scored two tries during a 20-minute spell, either side of Wales centre Kerin Lake crossing for her team's third touchdown.

Scotland then set up a tense finale when prop Jade Konkel went over for a try that Helen Nelson converted, but Wales, led superbly by their captain Carys Phillips, held on for victory.
