THE ‘Pirate’ Darts Club is nearing it’s conclusion, with just eight games to be played, three players are in the hunt to become the first ever league champion.

Kevin Murdoch sits top of the league, with 36 points, and two games remaining, one of which is against third placed Steve Perry, who has four games to play, and is on 31 points. Second placed Mark Stevens, 36 points, is relying on results going his way to become champion.

The race is on for the seeded places, in the singles championship, with Alan Oliver, Steve Dyer, Paul Green, Paul Cox and John Nowland all vying for a bye into the quarter-finals. The first round of singles will be played this Sunday, together with the last league fixtures, Mo Cox will play Steve Turnbull whilst Neil Thomas plays Sparkle, best of five legs. The doubles competition sees Mark Stevens and Mo Cox through to the final, both winning their group, and with the third group up for grabs, Perry, Dyer, Green and Sparkle all on identical points, all is to play for, John Nowland and Neil Thomas are in the lead position to fill the highest runner-up spot in the final.

The league finals night is scheduled for Sunday, March 25.
