SULLY Centurions Cricket Club start the 2018 campaign with a couple of home friendlies this weekend.

On Saturday, Centurions play host to Kensington & Chelsea CC from London and on Sunday the visitors are Lisvane CC. Both matches start at 1pm.

This season sees Centurions aiming to build on last year’s successes, when the 1st XI finished runner’s up and the 2nd XI finished in fourth place in the South East Wales Cricket League Division 3.

The junior section is also raring to go, after an enjoyable run of indoor nets practice, and the club is also involved in the ECB’s ‘All Stars Cricket’ scheme (for 5-8 year olds) for the first time this year.

In September the season will be rounded off by the annual tour to Somerset – last year’s tour, although badly affected by the weather, was enjoyed by all who went.

Centurions are indebted to Gordon Hadfield from the Seashore Grill, who will once again be sponsoring the club in the forthcoming season.
