PENARTH Darts League recently played their end of winter season finals at the Cogan Coronation Club, it was an enjoyable evening and there were some great darts thrown including Paul Wingren’s back to back Maximum 180’s in the Grandmasters (1001) Pairs finall.

Paul with partner Jack Frost went on to win the match with Paul 100 and two 180’s and Jack 100 x8 the runners up here was Kevin Murdock 100 140 140 and John Nowland two tons and a 140.

Penarth Dartathlon the final was between Rob Grant and Ian Hartley Ian won the first game finishing on x1 but Rob won the next two by hitting four treble 13’s and the final game hitting 8 lots of bulls and 25’s.

301 Double to start Joe Hoddinott in the semi final hit 100 x4 and x1 to win against Nathan Rosser 100 112 x6, Paul Wingren had a bye so the final saw Paul win two straight legs with scores of 127 x2 and x4 over Joe.

The 501 Pairs final was between Neil Thomas and Russ Edwards playing against Kevin Murdock and John Nowland, Neil won the first leg hitting X10 and Russ hit a ton but Kevin came back taking the next two legs with x16 and x9, John hit 140 and a ton.

The Grandmaster 1001 singles was a straight one leg final between Paul Paterson and Paul Wingren, Paul Wingren hit three tons and finished on x20.

The 501 Singles semi finals saw Kevin Murdock 100 x3, 140 x4 to beat Jack Frost who hit a ton, Russ Edwards 140 x1, 100 180, 125 100 x4 to beat Steve Turnbull 100 x18, the final was best of five legs, Russ hit a ton and a bull out however Kevin came back to win hitting a ton and x10, x2, x8 to take the title for 2018 which he also won in 2015, congratulations to all the players involved and many thanks to Peter Evans and the staff of the Coronation Club.
