MO Cox hit two maximums in a very close contest at the top of The Greenaway Autos singles league table against Anthony Adams only for his doubling out to cost him dearly in a 3-1 defeat.

Together with a draw against the resurgent Lee Lewis, who also won 3-0 against Russ Edwards, this keeps Anthony at the top of the table.

Matt Stanger and James Johnstone won both their games on the night to firmly establish themselves at the right end of the table before the cut-off in three weeks.

Nathan Rosser won and lost a game, as did Alan Oliver, by the same 3-1 margin.

The father and son rivalry between Mo and Paul Cox took centre stage.

And with no love lost, they shared the spoils, both convinced they should have won. Paul then went down 3-1 to Russ in a frustrating manner as the doubles let him down.

The 1st round of the Knockout Cup starts this week with 4 fixtures, best of 5 legs, being played.

The pick of which is the encounter between the much-fancied duo of James Johnstone and Anthony Adams.

Other ties are Mark Stevens against Neil Thomas, Nathan Rosser v John Nowland and Matt Stanger v Paul Green.

The remaining ties to be played next week, with an open draw for the quarter-finals on the night.

The Ladies had an evening off this week, however, it was encouraging to see some of them practicing their hearts out for future encounters. Well done girls!
