MURCH Bowling Club – Ladies Section reports.
Double Rink Murch v Barry Romilly 26.6.18
This week began with the Murch hosting their Barry neighbours in this two rink league with the Murch winning both rinks with identical scores on both rinks.
Rink 1 players, new player J. Evered, S. Blainey, K. Macleod and skip S. Wade, score 11- 8 ¼
While on rink 2, players P. Goode, M. Rice, C. Hougardy, skip C. Real, score 11 – 8 ¼.
Romilly club were unable to provide a full team of players on both rinks which gave Murch the advantage but managed to keep the overall score down to a narrow win of 5 ½ shots, with Murch 22 shots to 16 ½ .
Afternoon League Murch v Windsor 28.6.18
Murch ladies, playing away to the Penarth club lost on 2 rinks, narrowly on rink 3 with C. Tranter, skip, P. Goode, L. Williams, and S. Blainey, score 16-19 shots while rink 2 players, C. Hougardy, A. Croom, K. Macleod, skip S. Mauchline lo0st by 9 shots, score 17-26. Rink 4 players, M. Rice, G. Hughes, E. Carryer, skip M. Clake won by 4 shots, score 22-18.
A closely contested match on all 3 rinks. Overall score Murch 55, Windsor 63 shots.
Evening League Murch v Penylan 29.6.18
The second home game this week saw Murch lose heavily to the Cardiff club on both rinks.
The overall score of Murch 14 shots, Penylan 42 shots gave the Cardiff bowlers an overwhelming win by 28 shots. Rink 1 players, G. Hughes, A. Croom, E. Carryer, and skip C. Tranter succumbed 8 shots to 19 while rink 2 players C. Real (Captain), K. Macleod, M. Clake and skip S. Mauchline lost by 6 shots to 23.
