THIS month saw golfers from around England & Wales compete at the Special Olympics Wales Annual Golf Tournament held at St Andrews Major Golf Club.

Councillor Janice Charles Mayor of Barry was present to welcome everyone to the event.

The 1st tee off for the 18 hole competition was at 10am, all golfers were introduced at the tee by John Hasting the golf professional at the club, in the first group seen two Welsh golfers tee off these were Sam Lazenbury (Barry) and Matthew Sims (Cardiff), within the second group seen James Savory (Barry) tee off.

The 9 hole competition tee off was at 10.30am with Gareth Lloyd & Mark Eveleigh both from Barry in div 2 and Adrian Abbott (Llantwit Major) in div 3 tee off.

After all round were complete everyone sat down for a meal prepare by McGrath Catering followed by the presentation.

Welsh golfers received 2nd Matthew Sims (Cardiff), 3rd Sam Lazenbury (Barry) in 18 hole div 1 competition.

18 Hole Div 2 seen James Savory received 1st place medal.

Div 1 seen Matthew Prewett received the 3rd place,

Div 2 seen Gareth Lloyd (Barry) receive second place and Mark Eveleigh 3rd.

Div 3 seen Adrian Abbott received 2nd place.
