Dinas Powis Golf Club Ladies Section round-up
On 29th July the Ladies Club Championship and Bronze Medal Championship was held. Congratulations to Lisa Ryley on becoming the new Ladies Club Champion after beating Sian Smith over a 36 hole competition. Lisa took an early lead and even though Sian came back over a few holes Lisa maintained her lead to win the Championship. Congratulations to Samantha Saunders on winning the Bronze Championship , an 18 hole competition after beating Ruth Yates in a closely fought contest with Sam winning on the 17th.
On 3rd July it was President’s Prize day and an 18 hole Medal was played:- 1st Lisa Ryley 83 – 15 = 68 on back 9 from 2nd Ruth Yates 92 – 24 = 68, 3rd Ann Mahenthiralingam 83 – 13 = 70.
On 3rd July a 9 hole Stableford:- 1st June Jones, 2nd Terry Unwin, 3rd Sue Thomas. Ann Mahenthiralingam won both the nearest the pin prize and the straightest drive prize. The Ladies Section would like to thank the President Marshall Anderson for a lovely day and lovely prizes.
On 10th July an 18 hole Medal 6:- 1st Sue Bridle 87 – 19 = 68, Ann Mahenthiralingam 83 – 13 = 70, 3rd Samantha Saunders 92 – 21 = 71.
On 10th July a 9 hole Stableford :- 1st Dorothy Amery, 2nd Angela Brown, 3rd Rhian Thomas.
On 17th July the R H Seel Bowl 18 hole Medal:- 1st Maxine Hird 90 – 21 = 69, 2nd Sue Bridle 88 – 19 =69, 3rd Audrey Harwood 96 – 25 =71.
On 17th July 9 hole Stableford:- 1st Rhian Thomas, 2nd Angela Brown, 3rd Pam Warne.
On 24th July Welsh Dragon Brooch 18 hole Medal:- 1st Ruth Yates 91-25 = 66, 2nd Sue Bridle 90 – 19 = 71, 3rd Samantha Saunders 92 – 21 = 71.
On 24th July 9 hole Stableford:- 1st Terry Unwin, 2nd Pam Warne, 3rd Kit Roblin.
On 31st July Ladies Day 18 hole Medal 7:- 1st Sue Bridle 85 - 19=66, 2nd Ruth Yates 94 – 24 = 70, 3rd Lisa Ryley 88 – 15 =73.
On 31st July 9 hole Stableford 1st Sharon Jesson, 2nd Rhian Thomas, 3rd Sally Livsey Davies.
Straightest Drive was won by Ann Mahenthiralingam and Sharon Jesson won nearest the pin.
Congratulations to Sue Bridle on scoring a hole in one on the 15th hole at Cottrell Park Ladies Open on 5th July.
