THE BOYS and girls of Dinas Powys Rugby Club's Mini Section marked the end of their season with a Fun Run in aid of Ty Hafan Hospice.
There was a great turn-out with over 50 runners taking part, including some brave parents and coaches. Fun was definitely had by all and over £1,500 was raised for this well deserved cause.
The run was followed by the end of season presentations to the players and coaches.
Each age group reported a fantastic season and the coaches thanked the players for their hard work and commitment as Jamie Robinson of Cardiff Blues presented them all with a trophy.
Jamie also presented individual awards to three players from each team - Most Improved, Parents Player and Player of the Year.
The winners in each age group were: U7's: Deiniol Bowen, Ben Hanson, Adam Davies.
U8's: Scott Bagshaw, Rhys Butler, Daniel Holden.
U9's: Lewis Downey (Most Improved), Iestyn Willey and William Turner (Joint Player of the Year).
U10's: William Rhys, Dan Watts, Charlie Baister.
U11's: James Walsh, Rhys Lane, Callum Smith.
U12's: Kieran Mitchell, Lane Dyer, Jordan Leyshon. Congratulations to all.
After the presentations Jamie held an impromptu training session outside the club which was a special treat for those who joined in and was particularly enjoyed by the mums (and dads) who watched from the sidelines!
Thank you to all the coaches and parents that make Mini Rugby in Dinas Powys such a success and a special thank you to Simon Leyshon for all his hard work this season.
Registration for next season will take place on the September 7 and 14. See you all then and have a great summer.
