Rain puts paid to Penarth CC games in washout weekend

ONCE again the apalling 'summer' weather caused all four Penarth CC sides' fixtures to be cancelled.
With conditions best suited to rugby and football, most players were resigned to watching both of these sports in the comfort of the clubhouse.
Assuming the real summer will arrive this week, the first, second and third XIs will be playing St Fagans CC in what amounts to a triple-header fixture. The firsts and thirds are at home and the seconds away.
The fourth team will travel to play Blaengarw.
On Sunday the U17 fixture list begins with a trip to Newbridge where the youngsters should appreciate the normally excellent batting wicket.
