Another wet weekend washout for Penarth CC

ONCE again the weather put paid to any hopes of cricket for all four Penarth CC sides.

Persistent rain in the week had already made play doubtful but the non-stop deluge on Saturday confirmed the inevitable. Perhaps readers could dig deep into their memories and see if they can remember a worse summer for match cancellations.

Penarth first team are now fourth in a league which is rapidly becoming a farce because of the lack of cricket.

On a brighter note the club (Danielle) is organising a social on July 28 at the Athletic Club. This will be a fancy dress/disco with an Olympic theme. The ticket price is £5 for adults, £3 for children and includes food.

The club dinner this year will be held at The Glamorganshire Golf Club on September 22.

If the weather relents, the first and second team will play Pentyrch home and away respectively on Saturday. The thirds are playing Brynmawr at home and the fourths travel to play Bridgend.
