Mini and Junior Rugby Season Kicks Off at Penarth RFC
9:00am Saturday 8th September 2012 in Sport
PENARTH Mini and Junior rugby club are set to start training at the Athletic Club ground, with a full list of fixtures at all age groups for the forthcoming season.
Penarth Mini and Juniors RFC is a well established and thriving club, with all age groups from under 7s to under 16s, and teams have had conspicuous success in recent seasons.
Last year's under 9s became District Champions and several of the age groups have made it to the semi finals of the Blues Cup over the last few years.
Penarth also have an excellent track record of supplying players for District level rugby.
There is a well established and very experienced coaching set-up with a number of ex-Welsh International players, as well as players from the Blues and Dragons involved.
The club is always looking for new coaches to get involved, particularly for the lower age groups. New coaches are fully supported, and coaching as well as refereeing courses for those interested are funded by the Club.
If your son or daughter is interested in joining to play rugby then take them along to try it. Training and games are on a Sunday morning with most age groups meeting at 10.30am.
The first couple of years are non contact (tag rugby) with contact starting at under 9 level. Children can compete in a safe and congenial environment and the Clubhouse provides an opportunity to meet and socialise with other people from Penarth as well as for children to interact with those from other schools.
There is limited space available at most age groups.
If you are interested get in touch - the phone numbers and email addresses are on the club website www.pitchero.com/clubs/penarthminiandjuniorrfc/
