GOOD WEATHER and a low tide start to Penarth Regatta on Saturday saw a good entry, good spirits and good humour as rowers scrambled in the mud until the spring tide streamed in and produced the best of conditions.

The regatta was supported by Ross, Llandaff, City of Cardiff and Hereford rowing clubs and the last named, who have adopted Penarth as their end of rowing season finale, were there in strength to once again dominate the races and convincingly pick up a lot of the trophies.

However, Ross’s women's crew, Llandaff’s mixed crew and Penarth were able to put their oar in and claim some of the prizes.
