SULLY SPORTS 2 BRIDGEND STREET 2 SULLY Sports entertained last year's South Wales Senior League Champions who were promoted to the Welsh League. Street brought a large squad to Sully, with the home side who were runners up last season also fielding a large but mainly new squad for the game.

Sports have lost some regular players to Welsh League Dinas Powys as they were eager to taste Welsh League action. The early play saw Sports doing well, particularly the defence.

The new player coach for Sully ex-pro Mike Fowler, former Crystal Palace and Newport, was an inspiration to the team and Sports took the lead when he glanced home a header. Street hit back with some neat football but saw the debut making keeper in fine form.

The second half saw a frustrated Street go further behind with a Calvin McClaggon shot into the corner of the net. For Sully James Barnett and Joe Taylor were excellent in a great team effort.

SULLY SPORTS 2 BARRY TOWN 2 Another home friendly saw the first ever local derby between Sully and Barry Town with Town eager to impress their gathered supporters.

An early scare for Town saw Mike Fowler glance a header against the post but the experienced Barry squad were playing some fine football matched by a 100% effort from Sports.

With Fowler having to drop back to the defence Danny James and Liam Beddard settled well with Hutton and Taylor again doing well. Town deserved their equaliser from a spectacular shot and early in the second half they went in front but it was left to Calvin McClaggon with a penalty to level for Sports and in the dying minutes a great Sports move saw Danny James thunder in a terrific volley which Dan Bradley in the Barry goal saved brilliantly.

A very good work out with both coaches satisfied with their team's performance.

SULLY SPORTS 3 ALBION ROVERS 0 Returning stalwart Ed Jones had his first game as Sports entertained last season's Gwent County runners up Albion Rovers, of Newport.

Sports looked to have the upper hand with the defence once again in good form. The first half ended goalless but the second period saw Sports take control with a penalty from Calvin McClaggon and a super finish from Alex Long with Nathan Blackie ending a flowing move for the third.

On Tuesday Sports were entertaining Welsh League Llangeinor and on Saturday Pontardawe, who are in sparkling form, are the visitors to Swanbridge for 2.30pm kick off, followed by a visit to Croesyceiliog next Tuesday for a 6.30pm kick off.
