Cogan Coronation U11s enjoy festival

COGAN Coronation's Under 11s went to Minehead over the bank holiday weekend to compete in the Easter Football Festival.

With a small squad of players they managed to get to the semi final stage of the competition, eventually losing 1-0 to a late goal against Pershore Boys Under 11s.

Amongst other teams they beat in reaching the semi finals were Kidderminster Harriers 6-1 and hosts Minehead FC 2-1.

Ex-Celtic, Wales and Arsenal striker Jon Hartson was on hand to present the team with their trophies. The competition was sponsored by Leicester City FC.

Teams from all over South Wales, Southern England and the Midlands were competing.

Cogans Spurs Manager Richard Lapton and trainer Andy Kempton were both very proud of the boys' acheivements and felt they gave 100 per cent in all their matches.

Team players were Rhys Schuster, Alex Gillingham, Joel Lapton, Niall Curtain, Lewis Acford, Jacob Frost, Joseph Abbot, Oscar Kempton and Jake Keating.
