DINAS Powys Rugby Club U7/8s - with 13 players - entertained a strong Rhiwbina side at the weekend, with the visitors fielding a large team of 23.
Excellent in both attack and defence and well disciplined in all aspects of their game, Rhiwbina capitalised on their opportunities.
The Dinas team are continuing to improve, with sound defence and good attacking play from all. The support play, in particular, was much better and the home side were unlucky not to score on several occasions, being stopped just short of the try line.
The consistent Dan Morgan notched up three tries, and there were two well deserved tries for the hard working Finley Purchase-Smith. Ben Jones, having his first game, scored a super try as did the talented Ieuan Driscoll.
A special mention must also go to another debutant, Iestyn Pesticcio, who had a brilliant game. He was probably the smallest player on the pitch but his all-round game was excellent and he is definitely one to watch for the future.
All three games were closely contested, with the visitors securing a win 3-0 win.
