SULLY SPORTS 2
DESPITE missing a few key players, Sully Sports' Vale Soccer League side had some different options with the arrival of new signings Antony Jones and Hywel Arcontopolous.
The first half was end to end, with both sides producing some decent football, but, with more on target attempts,The Knap seemed to have the upper hand.
Sully brought on Kyle Lewis up front at half-time, and the player had an immediate impact when his first touch in taking a corner led to the team's opening goal from Patrick Curran. Lewis then got on the scoresheet himself when he beat the goalkeeper in a one-to-one situation.
However, the second half was not at all one-sided and, indeed, The Knap had good goal attempts, with Sully 'keeper Jordan Lewis making some great saves in his side's first clean sheet of the season.
Christos Antoniou produced a dogged man of the match performance with some marvellous tackles and the shoring up of the midfield.
Sully's yellow jersey award went to Arcontopolous for a schoolboy error concerning a throw in. Special mention to youngster Ashley Cottle for his good performance at right back and David Kavanagh for his role in midfield.
Sully entertain Cogan Coronation at home next Saturday; kick-off 2pm.
