THE Windsor Lawn Tennis Club’s juniors have been busy on the tournament scene, with some impressive results.
At a South Wales County 9&U Orange event, five of the 12 entrants were Windsor players, with Rohan Rayani, Leo Sullivan and Kreshay Bharwani all performing well. Zac Essenhigh reached the semi-finals and Addy Bradley-Glinister produced a fine performance to win the event.
At the 8&U Red age group, Holly and Harry Ritchie both took part in the David Lloyd World Tour event, with the former reaching her first final. At 10&U Green age, Jack Ritchie performed well in a tournament at the prestigious Millfield School in Somerset to reach the semi-final, a feat matched by Max Bradley-Glinister at the Black Dog Green event in Swansea.
At 12&U level, Lucas French has been in action at a county-event and Jack Rees, making the step up to yellow ball for the first time, won four out of four matches at the Whitchurch matchplay to increase his LTA rating in his event.
Tennis squad head coach Robert Wedlake was delighted with the performances, saying: "Windsor has a crop of talented players in these age groups, with an equally committed support base of parents and coaches. We are delighted to see their progress which has also been recognised through Addy and Zac being invited to Welsh training camps and Bella Macintyre, Holly Ritchie, Ella Hill, Harry Davies, Leo Sullivan, Lucas Roberts and Rohan Rayani invited to South Wales development camps."
