Sully Sports FC girls football section appeal for new players

SULLY Sports FC’s girls football section is appealing for new players for the Under 12 age group at the School Year 7 age group, aged 11 to 12 years.
The club, based at Sully Sports and Social Club on South Road, boast excellent facilities and offer the opportunity for girls to enjoy playing regular football in a league format every Sunday morning.
Lee Jenkins, the under 12’s coach, said: “We are trying to encourage more girls to come to us and increase our numbers as next season we will move up to 11 a side in the team and need to build a squad of players.
“It’s a community club all run by volunteers and that’s why we are really trying to get the word out.”
He added: “It’s competitive at Under 12’s but there is still an emphasis on participation and having fun”.
He added that last season the Under 12’s got promoted to the higher division, that four of the girls represented the South Wales League squad and that the Under 10’s and Under 12's, played at Cardiff City Football stadium during the half time interval when Cardiff City played Derby last season.
The team train on Tuesday evenings between 7pm and 8pm, during the winter months taking place on the astro pitch at Sully Sports and Social Club, South Road, Sully, moving on to grass in the spring.
