WELSH rugby star Sam Warburton is set to come to Penarth for a book signing later this month.

British Lion Sam will be signing copies of his new book Lions Triumphant - The Captain’s Story at the Windsor Bookshop on Saturday, December 21.

It is expected that around 200 people will cram into the bookshop for the chance to meet the man that has led the Welsh rugby team to a Grand Slam, a Six Nations championship and the World Cup semi-finals.

Fresh from leading the British and Irish Lions to their first Test series win in 16 years against Australia over the summer, where he was the youngest-ever Lions captain, 25-year-old Sam will be signing copies of his new book from 3pm onwards.

In Lions Triumphant Sam gives a compelling inside account into the tour, from the build up and selection of the squad, to the three-match test series that was a rollercoaster ride of emotions. The book is also packed with behind-the-scenes anecdotes and revealing insights about the characteristics of the players from the tour.

Tony Hallett, of Windsor Bookshop, said: “It’s always the busiest weekend of the year anyway, so we really hope we don’t have any snow then.”

It’s not the first time Sam has come to Penarth, after he was at Tesco at Penarth Marina last year to boost ticket sales for the autumn internationals.
