AS the Jet stream decided to return from its winter holiday and park itself directly over the Bristol Channel on Saturday, conditions for the May Medal at Glamorganshire Golf Club were tricky to say the least.
With some golfers in the afternoon having to dodge falling trees, those playing in the morning faired slightly better and it was, indeed, Charlie Caldwell (70 nett), with an early tee off time, who was the winner. Second and third - also with nett 70s - were Nathan Waters and Phil Parker respectively.
Result: 1, Charlie Caldwell, 85-17-70 (on countback ); 2, Nathan Waters, 82-12-70; 3, Phil Parker, 84-14-70; 4, Dennis Baker, 89-19-70.
There were 10 balls per share in the twos competition.
The next competition is the Barbarian Cup on Saturday, May 17.
