THE Penarth Windsor Lawn Tennis Club has had much to celebrate this week, including the selection of youngster Addy Bradley Glinister for the South Wales county team.

One of three boys and three girls, his selection comes on the back of impressive performances at regional competitions, talent ID sessions and county training camps. Windsor’s first South Wales junior representative for several years, he will compete in Southampton on July 19.

There was further success on the schools' front, with Stanwell 15&U teams, featuring Windsor juniors Wil Marsh, Tom Marsh, Seren March, Grace Samuel and Niamh Sweeney, winning the Vale secondary schools' tournament to progress to the South Wales finals in September. Evenlode had already progressed to the finals in the primary schools' event and secured the South Wales title at both red and orange age groups for their boys' teams.

Windsor’s coaching team have been conducting several schools' outreach projects during the summer term including co-ordinating a national campaign that has introduced tennis to 3,000 reception pupils, secondary schools' tasters at Stanwell School and, thanks to sponsorship from Spire Cardiff, a series of sessions with pupils at Ysgol Erw’r Delyn and Ysgol Maes Dyfan.

The club congratulates Addy and all participants in recent events and would also like to thank Regal Building and Maintenance and Cardiff Sports Orthopaedics for their sponsorship of the recent Masterclass event which saw 56 players treated to a day of doubles coaching from ex-Davis Cup players Danny Sapsford and James Auckland.
