THE Old Penarthians Under 7's travelled to Llantwit Major RFC for their first game of the season, playing in their brand new kit. The Old Pens walked away second (A Team) and third (B Team) overall, with both teams only beaten by a strong and experienced Beddau team - the A Team being narrowly beaten in the Final 5 - 3.

This was a huge achievement for a team with no previous match time, and all the Coach's were immensely proud of the players for the efforts they had made. Oliver Hill captained the B Team like a seasoned professional, while Isaac Clawson led his A Team by example throughout all games. Theo Simmons, James Siberry, Noah Williams, Alphie Gore and Otis Colderly were no strangers to the opponent's Try Line, while William Bennett, Gruffy,Gabriel Chandler, Alphie Rainbird and Luke Shallis were fearless in support.

The defensive skills of Lewys Tollerfield, Harry Hopkins and Edo were tested, but rarely breached, while Harry Glover, Edward Kirby and Dylon Ashton all made hard work for the opposition with their pitch presence.

Sammy Powell stood out for his resilience, after taking a bad knock in the second game but still turning out for the remaining fixtures after a short rest and recuperation.
