NIGEL Read of Seabreeze Homes has added Penarth Youth to his company list of Town rugby sponsorships, when he presented team captain Sam Laity with a set of after match shirts for the 30 odd strong squad. Seabreeze Homes are also a sponsor of the Senior Penarth team, currently playing in SWALEC League Division Two South East.

“I am delighted to have become one of the sponsors of Penarth Youth, which is the engine of club rugby in town. Several members of the Youth section have recently joined the senior side and they are doing well in the very competitive Division Two Swalec League,” said Mr Read at a brief ceremony held at the Penarth RFC clubhouse in Lavernock Road.

The presentation of the new shirt sponsorship turned into a fashion display, as the players were also presented with the new match polo-shirts sponsored by Ed Goodfellow of Marconi Holiday Village.

“The Youth section is extremely appreciative of the support of Seabreeze Homes and Marconi Holiday Village and thank both Nigel Read and Ed Goodfellow for their generosity,” Youth Chairman Richard Smith said. “The Section has lost 11 players from last year’s all-winning side, to both senior and university rugby, but the arrival of 14 players from the Penarth U16s team has strengthened the squad to a large extent. We are making progress under our excellent coaches Colin Laity and Andy Pyman who look after more than 30 players, trying to emulate the success of the 2013-14 season when Penarth Youth achieved the coveted double, winning both the League and recording the first win over Crawshays Youth”, Mr Smith added.
