Penarth Darts League

This week in Penarth darts we saw the top two teams win maximum points both taking 12 points each, at the Ex’s the Home side the Ex’s Sparrows took on a depleted Cross Keys team who could only field 3 players, Ex’s too full advantage taking the first pairs with Mark 139 with a 63 out shot on x12, Jeff hit a ton in reply for the Keys, the second team of Paul and John had a walkover, Ex’s took 7 singles points through Mark. W 122 and a 76 shot out, x4, Steve 140, 101 100 x10, Paul 100 x2 and a maximum 180 100 with a 64 out shot, John had a walk over, Tony was the keys sole points winner scoring 140, and a 666 out shot on x18 and x2, Ex’s also took the team game with Paul hitting x10 and John supporting with 140 100, Final score Ex’s A 12, Keys 2.

At the Rafa club they also enjoyed a large points hall taking the Ex’s by 12 points to 1, The Ex’s B started well taking the first pairs with Paddy 100 and Paul 140 121 x1, All remaining points went to the Rafa Club with Lee 100 140 x1o Anthony 180 10 (17 darts) and 105 x18 with a 90 out shot on x18, Gary 100 x7 and 121 x20, Lee x16 and x20, Dave 10 with a 92 out shot on x16, x20, High scores for the Ex’s came from Dave 100, Ian 117 100, 100 100, Gary took the team leg to seal the Rafa’s win with x12 following a ton from Lee.

At the coronation Club the oldies put up a good fight against strong opposition from the Golden Lion A, Wayne took the first pairs for the Coro with 100 x16, Owain supported with a ton, Nathan hit 115 for the Lion, Mike took the next pairs with x19 for the Lion, Coro could only manage three points from the singles even though most games ran to a deciding leg, Owain won the first of the Coro’s singles on x7, Wayne scored 100 140, 140 x12, Dai 140, x1, Lions wins came from Mike 100, 124 x18, 100 x16, Nathan 121 x8, x8, Rob 123, x20. X17, Steve 100 100, 123 x1, x16, Derek scored 100 140 for the Coro, Wayne took the three points team leg for the Coro with 121 x10, Steve hit 100 for the Lion, final score Coro 7, Lion A 9.

We were very saddened to hear of the recent passing of one of Penarth Darts true characters George Hookway, George Loved his darts and was very proud of his trophy collection which took pride of place on his sideboard, George played for many years was well liked and will be sadly missed by all of those who knew him.
